Seventy times Seven

So good to see you
It’s been a while
I always go away but can’t stay long
Though I try
Seventy times seven
I go away
Yet You just don’t leave, like it’s not in You to be that way.
                No doubt there’s pain
                Before embrace
When I spit upon your face
And  yet you whisper my child that’s just how my cross tastes
Seventy times Seven is how love is made

And I find that kind of love in the arms of
This man’s embrace
Always staying round even though seventy times seven I break
And he’s there to make sure that my pieces
Don’t get away
And to  gently lift me up to my Maker
to be remade
                and though there’s pain
                in his face
when I refrain from his embrace
he gently whispers seventy times seven is how love is made
And so I’m free to be
                        And I’m free to fail
                        Im free to flee
But seventy times seven I am compelled
                        To stay, to stay
                Each time we falter
            Let’s believe
            Seventy times seven Christ alters
            To set us free
And when one of us would walk out
            Let’s be brave
Knowing love may not be natural
            But it is made
And so we’re free to be
                        And we’re free to fail
And we’ll be free to flee
But seventy times seven we’ll be compelled
                        To stay, to stay
To forgive and be forgiven seventy times seven is how love is made
